Make some time to stand and stare

sunsetWe all lead such busy lives nowadays that it can be difficult to switch off and just enjoy our surroundings. We’re constantly assailed by deadlines, either imposed or of our own making, as we try to fit in activities and balance work and play.

I was thinking about this as I watched the sun set over the Olympic Mountains from Fauntleroy beach in West Seattle and it brought to mind a poem by WH Davies – Leisure – which better reflects what I want to say than anything I might write.  I hope you like it.
